Anna Routh Barzin

I do pr for brands and people that I believe in. The stories that resonate most with me have a sense of place, evoke childlike wonder, lean analog, and might easily be misunderstood. Currently I work primarily in the food and hospitality space, and you can see my clients here. I think they are The Best.

I can’t remember a day of my life that I didn’t want to be a writer. I’ve always loved newspapers and magazines and studied journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. I worked in editorial at Southern Living and National Geographic Traveler before, in the face of a wobbly print vs. digital media landscape (sound familiar?), trying restaurant pr at a boutique agency in NYC.

Two years later, in 2016 — totally unqualified — I started Dear Clive and began working with clients independently including cooking and home brand Food52. (Listen to founder Amanda Hesser share her story on How I Built This with Guy Raz.)

I’m based in Durham, NC, where I live with my husband, two daughters, and Boston terrier.
